So Tia Knows




For those that are family you know what I mean when I say that Tia Maria knows... The phone call came in at 0700 with that fabulous high-pitched, totally heart-felt "Congratulations!" It's so much fun to have her as an Aunt-wow!


Anyway, another piece of the puzzle- we are aware that some people won't be able to make it and that's okay- we love you anyway ;) For those that are thinking about it we don't want any surprises for you. We have decided to be married at the top of our favorite hiking trail in town. The hike is called Angel Rocks- it is a 3.5 mile loop trail with an approximate elevation gain of 900 feet. So obviously we understand if some of you think we are nuts and that you have no desire to walk up there with us... the upside is the reception is at a camp ground nearby called Twin Bears Camp. You can drive to this, it requires no hiking but it does require a sense of adventure. If you want to see what the camp grounds look like I've included a link to their website. http://fairbanksrescuemission.org/tb/index.htm There is water and electricity at the camp so it's not completely primitive.


We really hope that you will be comfortable in this very Alaskan setting and if you want to just come to the reception and skip the hike up- that's okay too!


For those that want another perspective on the trail I found this really cute link about a 6th grade class that hiked up there in 2001-

check it out if you want but realize weather can vary because the included picture at the top on the right is of September 3, 2007 and we were roasting...

THAT GUY??? You wanna marry THAT GUY? I thought you were going to marry the guy buying the eggs at Fred Meyers! Whoa! Didn't see that coming! ;) Of course I'll be there! SSOOOOOO glad that everyone is happy! XXOO- don't fuggettabout the lunch on Saturday. any Saturday really.

I'm with Bevin...THAT GUY??? Well I thought I was supposed to bring my PICANIC basket! Don't worry, I will. We (I mean the entire five of us,..the AKMcClan) wouldn't miss it! Congrats, God bless, and bring on the beer! Oh, did I mention that you two are perfect for eachother?

Important Wedding Weekend Details

When: Thursday, September 11th, 2008. Ceremony to begin at noon.
Where: Top of Angel Rocks Trail- ~1.2 miles in and 900 feet elevation gain.
Party: Reception Weekend to follow @ Twin Bears Campground. We will be staying through Sunday morning if you would like to stay with us there are cabins or you can bring a camper.
Attire: wear whatever you feel like- are you kidding we're already asking you to hike for us... ;)

We respectfully request no gifts just your friendship, a potluck side dish to share for the reception, your own prefered drink if beer is not your taste and whatever you may need for the rest of the time you will be staying as we really haven't thought about the details past Thursday evening.
